That’s right – iWork ’09! There is a lot of speculation and rumors floating around out there about when it will be released and what it will hold. 9to5mac.com is reporting that iWork ’09 will become an online application – probably something like Google Docs on steroids. To be honest I’m really not sure how I think about that. Are they going to make it a part of .mac? I honestly don’t buy much software over the internet. I guess we’ll have to wait and see – hopefully something will be announced next week at MacWorld.

Which brings always brings up a great question. What improvements of iWork ’08 do you want to see to iWork ’09? Here are some of mine…
General:
1. A database software or Access equivalent added.
2. A Object-Oriented web design program.
3. Better integration of with Office

Pages
1. Integrated support for research paper formats
2. Get rid of the Export feature and allow users to “save as” .doc, .pdf, etc.

Numbers
1. Greater scripting support
2. Pivot Table Support

Keynote
1. Keep the soundtrack and movie in one file when exporting as a .mov file
2. Allow users to change the size of the thumbnails.

What do you think?
